Each month below links to a dedicated page covering that specific month's lunar calendar: the exact date and time of its full moon (with a link through to that moon's full traditional-name page), its new moon date — the month's genuine dark-sky window, when the Moon's glow isn't washing out fainter stars, meteors, or deep-sky targets — plus real, month-specific detail on seasonal sky conditions, nearby meteor showers, and practical notes for anglers and gardeners following older lunar-timing traditions.

Every date on every one of these pages is computed from real orbital mechanics (via the astronomy-engine library), not estimated from an average cycle length or copied from a static table. That distinction matters more than it might seem: the Moon's actual angular speed varies enough through its elliptical orbit that a simple 29.53-day average would drift measurably from the real date within a single year, which is why this calendar recomputes the real astronomy for each month rather than repeating a fixed pattern.

The Rolling 18-Month Window

The eighteen months below run from the current month through roughly a year and a half out — a rolling window that always covers "now through the next year and a half," recomputed from today's real date rather than frozen at some earlier point. A quick reminder if you're unfamiliar with how full and new moons relate: a full moon is when the whole visible disc is lit (Earth roughly between Sun and Moon); a new moon is when almost none of it is (the Moon roughly between Earth and Sun). They're always about two weeks apart, and together they bookend the two halves of a single roughly 29.53-day lunar cycle.
